Sacramento is the capital city of the U.S. state of California and the seat and largest city of Sacramento County. It is the fastest-growing major city in California. Sacramento is also the cultural and economic core of the Greater Sacramento area. Known as the “City of Trees” owing to its abundant urban forest. The city has more trees per capita than anywhere else in the world. Sacramento has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate. It is characterized by very hot, dry summers and cool winters with a decent amount of rainfall. Sacramento is also home to the Wide Open Walls Festival where artists from across the world have added more than 140 murals across the city since the festival’s inception in 2016. Tower Records was started and based in Sacramento until its closing. Sacramento has several major museums. The Crocker Art Museum is the oldest public art museum.
